One Man, Two Guvnors

One Man, Two Guvnors" is a rollicking, anachronistic farce by Richard Bean, a modern English adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's 18th-century Italian commedia dell'arte play, "The Servant of Two Masters."

It's set in Brighton, England, in 1963, and features a live skiffle band that performs throughout the show.

The central character is Francis Henshall, a perpetually hungry and somewhat dim-witted former skiffle band member. He finds himself in the precarious position of working for two different bosses ("guvnors") simultaneously, and the entire chaotic plot revolves around his desperate attempts to keep them from discovering each other.

The show was performed by the Horsehay Amateur Dramatics Society, Horsehay, Shropshire

from 10th to 12th July 2025.
